Welcome to Planet Grilled Cheese, and thank you for your interest in our grilled cheese restaurant! Planet Grilled Cheese is the story of a young French couple determined to conquer the United States with their family oriented restaurant concept.
Meet the founders
Arsène is a 31 year old former professional motocross rider and a genuine serial entrepreneur who has over 8 years of experience in managing his own small size business in France. His experience as a sports teacher gives him the ability to pass his knowledge on, making him a great leader.
Laury is 28 years old, born and raised in Paris. She has received a Bachelor degree in English/American Literature & Civilization, a Bachelor degree in Marketing & Sales and a Master in Management & Business Strategy.
Laury and Arsene met in 2009 and fell in love at first sight! They are both hard workers and have a strong entrepreneurship mind. They started working together when they opened a motocross school in France. Their business was working great. However, tired of the fiscal and administrative pressure in their home country, they decided to stop their activity and move on. They have always dreamt about the US and, together, they finally achieved their dream!
From the motocross school to the grilled cheese concept
Laury and Arsene have always been passionate about food and opening a restaurant has always been on the top of their list. Their limited budget only allowed them to open a food truck, so they decided to go ahead and try their luck. They first opened a food truck specialized in French food, mostly savory crêpes, sweet crêpes and croque-monsieur. Croque-monsieur is a ham and swiss sandwich that is known to be the French version of the classic American grilled cheese. Their croque-monsieur was so successful that they decided to turn their food truck into a grilled cheese concept. After only a couple of months "Planet Grilled Cheese" was born and hit the road for the first time in February 2016.
From the food truck to the store…
After 6 months of business with their food truck, they were doing great!!! Corporate lunches, catering, private parties, food truck rallies… They started to build their reputation in the Tampa Bay Area and soon they were contacted by different Malls interested in adding this unique grilled cheese concept to their food court. Laury and Arsene both agreed that it was time to bring their business to the next level. And before they knew it, Planet Grilled Cheese opened it’s first store in the Lakeland Square Mall, between Tampa and Orlando.
What’s coming next?
Laury and Arsene want to expand their business and they just started offering restaurant and food truck franchise opportunities. They want to offer other motivated and determined entrepreneurs the opportunity to become their own boss, thanks to a low-cost investment and a well thought out concept proven successful already. They are passionate entrepreneurs who know what it’s like to start from scratch with a limited budget. And like they often say: “If we did it, so will you”.
